"GigaBUD"
Broadband Uniform Distribution Unit (P/N 415338-2)
The 550 MHz GigaBUD is the active video hub of the system providing distribution of 7 T-Channels and up to 79 broadcast channels. This unit amplifies, equalizes, splits and combines signals bi-directionally (28 return/reverse channels). A tone is generated to set up the AGC and the master/slave configuration, assuring broadcast picture quality. For any add, moves, and changes, the system automatically adjusts itself. This makes the system plug-and-play.
Features:
- Self-configuring and plug-and-play to easily accommodate adds, moves and changes.
- The GigaBUD can combine, split, amplify and equalize the system signals allowing it to achieve a high picture quality and meet FCC Part 15 guidelines.
- The GigaBUD cascades up to four levels deep and accommodate up to 9000 drops .
- The maximum distances between the cascaded GigaBUDs are: 400' with RG-6 coaxial cable, 685' with RG-11, and 1080' with .500 semi-flex coaxial cable. This reflects an attenuation budget of 13 db at 240 MHz.
- Category 6 cable and hardware has the ability to transport NTSC signals up to 550 MHz. or 78 channels.
- Enhanced Category 5e cable and hardware has the ability to transport NTSC signals up to 450 MHz or 60 channels.
